Lafayette County Sheriff's Report - 01/31/13
Deputies responded to CTH XX in Belmont Township for a report of a domestic disturbance on Jan. 22. As a result of the incident, Douglas R. Nihles, 29, Platteville, was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct. Nihles posted bond and was released.

Susan R. Helton, 24, was transported from the Grant County Jail to Darlington for a court appearance on Jan. 23. After the court hearing, Helton was returned to the Grant County Jail.

Morgan D. Golden, 22, Beloit was arrested for Operating After Revocation on STH 11 in Gratiot Township on Jan. 23. A passenger in the vehicle, Demarcus A. Isabelle, 24, Beloit was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were later released after posting bond.

A deputy responded to the Benton Schools on Alma St. to take a theft report on Jan. 23.

Curt D. Humphrey, 42, Mineral Point, was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated, Operating after Suspension, Non-Registration of an Automobile and Displaying Unauthorized License Plates following a traffic stop on STH 23 in Willow Springs Township on Jan. 25.

Following a traffic stop on CTH F in Fayette Township on Jan. 27 a 16-year-old juvenile was arrested for Underage Alcohol Consumption. The juvenile was cited and released to their parent.

Due to the slippery ice covered roads, deputies along with the Lafayette County Highway Department responded to several vehicles in the ditch throughout Lafayette County on Jan. 27.

A deputy responded to a one-vehicle accident on STH 23 in Darlington Township on Jan. 27. Jarett J. March, 19, Shullsburg was traveling southbound when he lost control due to the icy roads. March spun around and slid into a ditch, striking a snow bank and embankment. March reported no injures and his vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

A deputy investigated a Hit and Run property damage accident on E. Truth St. in Shullsburg on Jan. 28. A legally parked vehicle owned by Sally Wiegel was struck by another vehicle which then left the scene.

No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident on Red Rock Rd. in Darlington Township on Jan. 28. Adalberto Abad Rosado, 24, Darlington was traveling eastbound on Red Rock Rd. when he lost control due to the icy roadway. The vehicle traveled into the ditch where it then rolled over coming to rest on its roof. The 1999 Buick Regal received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Abad Rosado was cited for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of an Accident and Operating Without a Valid Driver's License.

Deputies assisted the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department and the Belmont Police Department with an investigation into a burglary at a business on W. Liberty St. in Belmont on Jan. 28.

Accidents involving deer include: Jerod D. McNett, 45, Warren, Ill. on STH 78 in Gratiot Township on Jan. 24; Kent R. Meier, 51, South Wayne on STH 78 in Wiota Township on Jan. 26; Daniel C. Bernet, 72, Argyle on STH 78 in Argyle Township on Jan. 26; Shannon M. Warrell, 38, Gratiot, on STH 78 in Gratiot Township on Jan. 27; Patsy I. Steiner, 69, Darlington on CTH F in Fayette Township on Jan. 28; Carrie M. Shippy, 27, Gratiot, on White School Rd. in Gratiot Township on Jan. 28;
